Commissioning an Oil Portrait
Acquiring a commissioned oil portrait has never been easier. Elizabeth's professional expertise will provide you with all the assurance you require when commissioning a custom oil portrait.
"Elizabeth worked with me from across the country. Over the phone and through email Elizabeth walked me through the process of the portrait. We discussed the "mood" I wanted for the portrait. She told me how to take photographs of my son. We talked about which photograph to use for the painting. Elizabeth emailed pictures of the portrait's progress. You will be contacted via email. If you should decide to invest in an oil portrait, details will be discussed via telephone or in person when convenient.
The ProcedureElizabeth paints from numerous photographs. While preferable for the artist to photograph the subject(s)
herself, she can instruct clients in taking their own pictures.
Position, clothing, and backgrounds can be adjusted as needed based on available photographs.
Payment ArrangementsDetails of your commissioned oil portrait
such as size, number of subjects, and background will determine the final price.
Payment of 1/3 of the cost is due before work begins.
Completion and ShippingThe client is kept abreast of progress via email and digital photographs. Upon completion of your
commissioned oil portrait, photos of the work will be sent to you for final approval. At that time minor changes can be made upon request.
Upon receipt of balance due, the painting will be professionally packaged and delivered to the client's home. Shipping costs, if necessary, are the responsibility of the client.
